Frans Floris de Vriendt - Flemish painter (? 1517 - Antwerp 1570). Member of the Guild of Saint Luke in Antwerp. Mythological scene The Cup of Ceres (Terenz, Eunuch IV, 5: Sine Cerere et Libero friget Venus). The triangular composition of two women and a faun turning towards them is complemented by a cupid and a servant with fruit. In the center of the triangle is a transparent vessel, a compositional and semantic center. Its symbolic content, probably the spirit of love and life, is passed on and gratefully received. The line of gifts produces a perpendicular diagonal to the axis of giving - which unites the material and spiritual principles of gifts. Provenance: the first mention of the work is noted in 1618 with inventory number 484 in one of the private residences of Munich, as the work of the seminary Tizian-Werkstatt. In 1792, a mention of the purchase of a painting from Kurfürst Carl Theodor for the Bavarian State Painting Collection with inventory number 10390. Semyon Fedorov (1867-1910). Landscape Summer day. Subtly conveys the atmosphere of a hot summer day, where the warm, Russian sun shines along the banks of the river with the aromas of herbs and the songs of larks. Time has stopped, thanks to the stone and sedge bush - the static scenes of the foreground. Behind them, the distance of a calm river unfolds with a light swell of blown wind. A shepherd and his flock are resting on the shore near a tree. But the semantic diagonal runs tangentially from the boulder on the left to the tree and to the church in the distance. This is a kind of marker of the inviolability, spaciousness, difficult happiness of Holy Rus`, where the sweet sadness of life comes with the mobility of the sky. Canvas dimensions: 62.5x97 cm.

Disk music box, 19th century, in a wooden case, with singing birds - marquetry in the frame panel, corner balusters and strongly extended cornices of the lid and pedestal. Two cam mechanism in excellent condition. Movement serial number 99289. Includes 15 discs (diameter 30 cm). With melodies by European composers in a separate wooden box with handles. Case size: HSHG 24x49x37 cm. A complete revision of the mechanism has been carried out. Presumably manufactured by I.Ch. Detmering Hamburg.
