Handle for a cane made of silver, guilloche enamel and jade. Faberge Jewelry House, master Julius Rappoport, St. Petersburg, 1899-1904. The handle is angular, made of jade with a cast and chased silver chimpanzee hugging it, with ruby beaded eyes. A collar made of guilloche red enamel with a fastening mechanism inside is framed by hammered edges of leaves, with the initials of the master, the hallmark of C. Faberge inside. 88 standard silver. Hallmarks on the monkey: K. Faberge under the coat of arms of the supplier of the imperial court. I.P. - Julius Rappoport. 88 silver, St. Petersburg 1899-1904.H-9.5 cm. L-8.2 cm.

Presumably a model of the famous furniture workshop CHARLES-GUILLAUME DIEHL, PARIS together with Leon Bertau. Historical note: Madame Leon (Helene) Berteau (1865-1909) - Leon Bertau, French sculptor In 1889 she received a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Paris.
