Icon 12 principal Christian feastIn the central part of the icon is the Introduction to the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows and Virgin Mary. In the center of the icon is the three-year-old Virgin Mary, who was brought to the temple by Her parents - Joachim and Anna. For a long time they were childless and took a vow: if the Lord gives them parental happiness, then they will devote the Infant to God. It was a sacrifice - to give their only, long-awaited child. The icon shows the fulfillment of a promise: Joachim and Anna bring little Mary to the temple, where the Jerusalem priest meets the family. According to Church Tradition, he was the righteous Zacharias, the future father of John the Baptist, therefore, on the icon, his head is surrounded by a halo. A pair of bronze candelabra for six candles, decorated with figures of birds of paradise.Tsarist Russia of 1870. A mixture of Orientalism and Romanesque stylistics, characteristic of the 1860s.Where is the idea of a garden of paradise, a ball and spherical shapes, an elegant waist, combined with the heroism of Roman paws and the hilt of swords. Before us is an original and juicy phenomenon of smart choice, the dominant thesis of eclecticism, under whose sign lived almost the entire 19th century.

Porcelain set. Sevres. 19th century.

Unique porcelain set made at the Sevres Porcelain Manufactory (Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres) in the first half of the 19th century. The set consists of two tall vases and one wide central flowerpot. The vases are decorated with a polychrome pattern depicting gallant scenes, gilded floral patterns on a cobalt background known as bleu lapis. The inner part of the central flowerpot is decorated with flower garlands and a central bouquet made using the technique of polychrome painting. Vases are mounted on a bronze polygonal base. Decorative pens in the form of female forms are made of gilded mercury bronze characteristic of the era of the first part of the 19th century.
