The upcoming auction is exceptional for the Antiqon Marketplace. Following the tradition of cultural continuity, we are organizing an online auction, which catalog will include items from the legendary Riga antique gallery Volmar, which announced its closure.
During its more than thirty-year history, Volmar opened the world to the Jurmala artist Adolf Zardinsh, collected the most extensive collection of icons in the country, became a place of pilgrimage for celebrities and connoisseurs of beauty from Latvia, Russia, the CIS countries, and Europe.
In the collection of the Volmar gallery, included in the Antiqon auction catalog, one can find unique art objects: a television receiver "KVN-49" from 1955 and a decorative lamp in the form of a diving helmet of the last century. Among the items of art, one can also mention an outstanding selection of works by A. Zardinsh with masterpieces from the storerooms, an icon with ancient images of Daniel and Zechariah. In addition, one cannot fail to note "Nymphs in the Woods" by Hans Koberstein, the peaceful mind and grace of a girl in Renan′s bronze, and a charming pure style belt of gilded thread with the quintessence of Art Nouveau in a buckle.
